Useing your hands |
|
Your hands should always stay in your box, you should use light hands. Push your hands forward when running on a straight. And use your inside hand to pick up and turn the barrel

Going around the barrel |
|
Actually when you are going around the barrel your outside had pushes down on the horn forceing you to sit on your but and your weight on your horses hind end, grab down the reins a bit and lift up and over to about the middle of your horses neck

I disagree with the horn thing....you shouldn't push down on the horn. You need to let your feet go forward and the forces of the turn are going to set you down. If your pushing on the horn your stiffening up. Also when your pushing against the horn your GOING to fall behind the horse when they leave the barrel.
I always have a hold of the horn going around, but never pushing against it.

Completely different....I don't push against the horn to push myself down in my seat.

Your feet do go forward when you push down on the horn. Your feet automatically go forward because you are pushing your butt down into the saddle

My feet go forward because that is where I put them, I am sitting on my pockets before I ever grab the horn. If you can't sit deep without using the horn your in trouble....
And pushing against the horn is going to cause you to fall behind your horse in the turn....
